Your Foundation Hates The Heat!

Virginia has been held captive by a brutal heatwave. Most of us have stayed cool by cranking up the AC, going to the beach or lounging poolside.

When it's this hot we check on neighbors, leave pets inside and water our gardens early in the morning.

But have you checked your foundation?

Scorching hot weather - like the Commonwealth is currently experiencing - can create serious problems for your foundation.

And the problems begin with your soil...

The amount of water - or moisture - in your soil plays a major role in your foundation's health and stability. When it's hot, hot, hot the moisture in your soil evaporates.

As the moisture is removed, the soil shrinks which creates gaps around your foundation. These gaps give your foundation room to move which can result in brick cracks, interior drywall cracks, and cracked concrete

In other words, that shrinking soil creates settlement problems. And when you start to notice this problem signs, it's time to call in an expert.
