Hiring: Writer-Based Marketing Coordinator - Virginia Beach

Fast growing regional company needs a Marketing Coordinator with a journalistic copy writing background to assist in marketing the service company to consumer and commercial target markets. Additional focus may also be needed on marketing a niche B2B software product.

The ideal candidate will have excellent written, grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills. May edit and proofread the work of others. You must be equally comfortable writing both long, short, and conceptual copy for B2B and B2C purposes. You must have a proven track record of working well with colleagues and the ability to learn our industry. 

We're looking for a marketing professional with exceptional communication, writing and organizational skills, and is a stickler for accuracy with grammar, punctuation, and attention to detail. You must be able to produce unique SEO-friendly content and be able to produce fantastic creative copy within required deadlines.

  • Ability to spot a typo at 50 yards
  • Creativity and ability to produce innovative and original ideas
  • Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Come up with brilliant copy and ideas on a daily basis
  • Be adaptable to a changing environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure when necessary
  • Four-year degree preferred
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Press releases for web (SEO optimized) and print
  • Copy checking and proofreading services 
  • Produce copy that is engaging, romantic, yet strategically focused, and free of errors
  • Ensure compliance with our company's branding standards when writing copy
  • Contribute to Facebook posts, blog, LinkedIn, and Twitter, as well as update and maintain copy on our websites
  • Create engaging content for our social media markets to promote our sales event
  • Must have deep understanding of SEO and social media
  • Annotate YouTube commercials and add content/tagging/etc...
  • Manage and update press list
  • Manage online and off-line press kit
  • Distribute press kit and communicate to key writers and editors
  • Develop press releases and press opportunities
  • Seek, arrange, and present at Real Estate Lunch & Learns
  • Attend networking opportunities, i.e. 
  • Seek Lunch & Learn opportunities for Dave and Scott (engineers, etc.) 
  • Seek speaking engagements for speakers bureau
  • Manage and update Professional Contacts list
  • Use Professional Contacts list to communicate via LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter
  • Identify and apply to general contractor, municipal, and university bid lists
  • Assist marketing and other departments where needed
