Block Foundation Repair

If you have cracks in your block foundation, chances are pretty good that you need foundation repair.

This is a story about block foundation repair...
A school in the greater Richmond area was experiencing a lot of settlement. The concrete blocks that made up the walls and foundation were starting to crack and separate.

The cracks in one area were so bad, that students took to hiding notes, pencils and an assortment of other knickknacks in them!

Needless to say, this didn't go over well with the school's faculty. So, the principal called in a few foundation repair companies to get an estimate for the repairs.

JES Foundation Repair was selected to fix the settling block foundation, and recommended installing push piers (a.k.a. resistance piers) and slab piers.

The piers were driven deep into the ground, until they reached stable, load-bearing soil. Then the piers were secured to the foundation and sections of the slab (You can see an example below).

Once the piers were secured, the building was stabilized and the settlement was effectively stopped. Best of all: the push piers safely lifted the school back to it's original level, eliminating the need for large concrete patches.

If your home or building has foundation cracks, it's time to call in the professionals! Don't wait until those cracks become a convenient place to hide love notes.
